Travel by Train

You need to get to Llandudno Junction Railway Station. Many trains depart from London, with connections from other parts of the country at Crewe and Chester. Plas y Brenin offers a collection service from Llandudno Junction on the evening before the first day of your course and will return you on the last day of your course. As the station is about 25 miles away, we only pick people up and drop off once a day. We will pick up at the station at 9.30pm. We leave Plas y Brenin at 5.30pm on the day your course ends. You should not book your train home any earlier than 6.30pm.

Travel by Road

Capel Curig is on the A5 (London to Holyhead Road) and the Centre is about 400 metres from the village along the A4086. From the North take the M56, A55, A5 or A470. Traffic congestion is sometimes heavy on the roads in holiday periods.

You’ll be able to soak up that atmosphere in the bar, enjoy an evening lecture or two and make use of our impressive facilities, including a mountain bike skills course and pump track, two indoor climbing walls, gym, an indoor heated canoe rolling pool and our private lake and stretch of grade II rapids.
This lovingly restored farmhouse has recently been renovated to include first class single en-suite rooms, so you can enjoy your four month stay in comfort. Set in tranquil woodland across from the centre, you will have the opportunity to enjoy the peaceful and scenic surroundings of Snowdonia. The farmhouse is situated adjacent to Byrn Engan Cottage and is a five minute walk from the main centre. The farmhouse is accessed along a secure forest track from the main road with plenty of parking outside.
There is a spacious living from with a 42 finch flat screen TV and several comfy sofas, which can be used either for relaxing or as an informal classroom. There is free wireless internet access throughout. The farmhouse has its own efficient drying room so you can dry your kit easily ready for the next day. Laundry facilities are available in the main centre, including a washing machine and tumble dryer.
There is also a wide range of facilities on-site including bar, dining room, climbing wall, abseil tower, fitness suite, bar and café.

Your course fee includes all of your meals in Plas y Brenin’s dining room but if you fancy a change you can cook your meals in the well-quipped, bring and modern kitchen.
