During the mornings and day times you’ll be learning all there is to know about scuba diving, leaving the evenings free to relax with your fellow divers on the beautiful moonlit beaches of the Bay Islands.

Please be aware that you should not fly for a minimum of 24 hours following a diving session, so take this into consideration when booking your flights home. Additionally, we recommend checking with your doctor prior to departure to this project, as some medical conditions can prevent you from diving safely, namely; pregnancy, flu, heart and/or lung condition(s), diabetes, asthma, and epilepsy, whilst it is also advised you have a good level of fitness and confidence in open water (being able to swim for roughly 200 metres, float or tread water for about 10 minutes, and feel comfortable in water for long periods is a sufficient standard), so make sure you get the green light from your doctor so you can dive safely and enjoyably!

The project is located on the serene island of Utila in the Bay Islands off the north coast of mainland Honduras. You could fly into either San Pedro Sula or La Ceiba airport and then make your own way to the island using the regular ferry where you will be met upon arrival at the island pier by our dive crew. We will provide you with easy to follow instructions prior to your departure to enable you to plan your journey.  Upon arrival at the main island pier you will be met by a friendly Frontier representative and taken to the project.

Whilst participating in this project you will be staying in shared dormitory style accommodation at a friendly, local guesthouse a simple room at a little family run resort right by the beach only a few minutes walk from the dive school. Local amenities, bars and restaurants are within walking distance from the resort making it the perfect place to relax after a fun day of diving.

Food is not provided as part of this programme. This is a fun element of travelling away from home as it gives you that added freedom and is a good opportunity to bond with fellow travellers while exploring local restaurants and market stalls! You will experience a unique fusion of indigenous Lenca cuisine combined with African and Spanish spices. Honduras is famous for its tasty tortillas, delicious fried beans and fresh and juicy papaya allowing you to taste the real Honduras.
