What is your favourite dish? Mac and cheese, omelette, a Sunday roast? Now imagine trying to cook this for 35 people, in a normal sized kitchen. On top of that we have some pescetarians, vegetarians and vegans. Some of the above choices are already out. So - what are we actually eating?
5. Pasta and tomato sauce
It's the go-to. Anyone who hasn't cooked much before will know how to boil some pasta, make a veg and tomato sauce, so it is quite regularly on the menu. And everyone makes it a little differently, so we do get some variety.
4. Rice and vegetables
See above: it is quite easy and especially good to make in large (very large!) quantities. Also, we can put paella spice into almost anything rice-based and make it 1000 times better.
Speaking of Spanish things, here is the most obvious: Empanadas! With tuna, without, vegetarian or vegan, we have enough dishes to make some of each and it is another favourite.
2. Jacket Potatoes
It might seem silly, but think about it: Jacket Potatoes for a lot of people is very easy to make. The potatoes cook themselves (they don't need peeling, which is a big plus) and then it is create your own. It's the least work for those on cooking duty.
1. A MEAL OUT!
True, it seems like cheating, but how good is a meal out with so many people. For waiters it is probably a nightmare, but for us it is the best way to try absolutely everything on the menu - from vegan to meat eaters and from favourites to typically canarian!
