Safari and Game Ranger Projects
Poaching and habitat destruction across the African continent has proved devastating for many species, and game reserves provide the protection needed to ensure that species are kept safe. Human and agricultural development has made it easier for poachers to gain access to protected species, and as such rhinos have been hit with the highest number of killings in 20 years.
Game reserves are vital in the effort against poaching and development that encroaches on habitats, and play a large part in keeping species numbers afloat with breeding and rehabilitation programmes. By volunteering to work on a game reserve project, volunteers will learn and assist in many areas of game reserve management and will also have the opportunity of a lifetime to become FGASA Field Guide qualified as an ethical safari guide.
