BTEC Courses

Imagine spending 10 weeks in a tropical paradise, scuba diving amidst colourful reef fish and dolphins, or tracking lions and elephants across a baobab-dotted savannah... all as part of your qualification!

Okay – so your GCSE or A-level results may not have been exactly what you hoped them to be. You still want to attend that top university or land that dream job but don't think your grades are up to it. Or maybe you are just looking for a way to get into conservation for the first time. A Frontier BTEC qualification in Tropical Habitat Conservation or Expedition Management can put you ahead of the competition by showing recruiters that you have that key combination of fieldwork experience and rigorous training that makes a good scientist.

We are the only organisation of our kind that can offer you the opportunity to qualify for an internationally-recognised qualification while in the field. We run three unique BTEC qualifications for volunteers and host-country participants which have been designed by Frontier specifically for our projects. We offer a 10-week BTEC Diploma in Tropical Habitat Conservation, a 4-week BTEC Certificate in Tropical Habitat Conservation, and a 4-week BTEC Certificate in Expedition Management (all level 3 qualifications – the same level as an A Level).

Our BTEC Certificate in Expedition Management is only offered on our Tanzania Expedition Management project and our Madagascar Expedition Management project

If you’re thinking of gaining a qualification with us and you would like to discuss your options further, why not give our dedicated Training Supervisor a call on 020 7613 2422. Our advisors have in-depth knowledge of all of our  qualifications and will be able to find the right one to make the most of your volunteer project.

Alternatively, to arrange call back, fill out this short callback form.

“I found the process of the BTEC enjoyable and was able to work at my own pace, achieving great outcomes. Completing the BTEC Certificate in Tropical Habitat Conservation has given me great confidence in my ability to research wildlife as well as to prove my practical skills in field work. This has helped me to realise my dream and pursue my goal of becoming a researcher and I am now well on my way to starting a PhD in Applied Animal Welfare in March 2014.”
