Working Abroad With Animals

Frontier has lots of options to work with animals abroad in amazing locations. We run projects in over 60 destinations and are at the forefront of environmental scientific research. Our projects for working abroad with animals are focused in areas which have a huge amount of biodiversity but are extremely threatened. Wildlife populations have declined dramatically due to anthropogenic effects such as habitat destruction, pollution, poaching and urbanisation.

What kind of working abroad with animals can I take part in?

Frontier runs terrestrial projects as well as marine projects. You can work abroad with animals by conducting research on elephant and leopard biodiversity in Sri Lanka, looking at primate behaviour in Costa Rica or researching lemurs in Madagascar. We have many different opportunities for working abroad with animals in varying habitats such as tropical jungles, deserts and the Antarctic. Our marine projects are also extremely varying; you can do shark monitoring in Fiji, whale and dolphin conservation in Tenerife or Lion Fish surveys in Belize. Marine projects also give you the chance to gain a diving qualification. If diving is not your thing, a lot of our surveys can be conducted by snorkelling. There if a plethora of wildlife under the water, with lots of weird and wonderful creatures to observe. It is really important to collect baseline data on wildlife as it allows us to monitor the changes in biodiversity and helps us to implement protective strategies to prevent further decline in wildlife.

Frontier's opportunites for working abroad with animals

By working abroad with animals you will be able to observe wildlife in its natural habitat and help collect data, which can be used to inform local governments on ways to help conserve species. Not only will you experience wildlife monitoring, but if you work abroad with animals with Frontier you will also be able to get involved with the local communities and help inform them and educate them on the biodiversity of the area and sustainable development.
